Ink and Brush Work

Last night was cold and rainy. It was a nice night to be indoors where it is warm.

My fascination with flower patterns continues so I painted this.

It's good to try new things, don't you think? My friend JR talked about "skating in the middle" When he took up rollerskating most of the people just went around in the outside edges in one direction, but the cool kids would dance and do tricks in the middle. At first he thought he would never be able to do that but after a while there he was spinning and groovin' with the best of them. Now whenever he needs to learn something new or take on a challenge he thinks back on that learning experience.

How about you? Are you an autodidactic? Do you like to learn new things? What new skill or hobby have you taught yourself?

"It's good to be creative!"

Warm thoughts, Marilyn.

  2. I'm so glad you're on wordpress now, so I can comment (I've been reading your blog off & on for eons, but livejournal never wanted to let me comment - hmph). Your new flower and flourish designs are lovely! I'm trying to learn how to illustrate...at least I hope I am :)
This is a bit late, but Happy New Year to you!

  3. The courage to write you has finally been mustered. I love your art work, toys and uplifting quotes. I found your website by accident and have shared it with others because of the pure childlike joy it brings out in me.

The flowers and brushwork are wonderful little confections. I just can't get hold of enough books, designs, inspiration for my decorative painting obsession. It's so much fun to even just look at all of your art. Truly a delight to the eyes.

May your New Year be filled with love, comfort, inspiration and TIME!
