Paper Flowers

It's been a busy weekend. The wonderhub cleaned the garage this morning and I did a kitchen purge to make more cupboard space. I realized that I had way too many little sauce pans that I never used, so out they went. I also said goodbye to my old computer, which we gave to a friend that is a writer. I hoping that it goes on to produce an award winning novel or screen play.

I've also been messing around making paper flowers. The top one is torn painted paper and the white one is cut paper.

How about you? Anybody starting any holiday projects? Do dish!

Marilyn.

I've been making bracelets with really cool carved stone beads from Beadline in Laguna. Let me know if you want to trek down there and snoop around, it's great!

  4. Oh My, I SO LOVE your paper flowers! I just completed 30 handmade flowers for a swap in one of my online crafting groups myself! I am presently making cards to be sent to wounded soldiers at VA Hospitals in the Tampa, Florida area- completed 50 yesterday and taking a break today, tomorrow I have to clean such a dirty word, LOL *Hugs*

  5. Alicia, thanks! And that is so neat that about the cards. You are so cool! What kind of paper did you use for your flowers? I can't find crepe paper ANYWHERE. (Except on line and I'm not that motivated... yet.) I've been watercoloring rice paper and that works out pretty.

  6. A friend donated money to my daughter's high school band program, and in return, I'm crocheting caps for the homeless (long story). Just getting cold enough here in Austin to need them! Finally made out my cookie list for holiday baking; had to narrow it down to six kinds this year, because I'm back to working full time and grad school. I wish I had time to be more creative!

  8. Oh, Marilyn! I'm knittin' knittin' and then knittin'! I knit cotton dishcloths (they're so popular, I often get requests, and they're so quick and easy!) Otherwise, still knitting my French-Canadian toques for the Voyageur reenactors. And you know what else? WRITING! I'm writing, and learning, and a proud card carrying SCBWI - and when (WHEN!!) I get published I shall credit YOU, my friend, for your inspiration. And that's thtrue pfofhfhtht!

  11. Grace! Hello!
I cut six to ten petals out of paper, then paint them, (or leave them white) then I tape them to a stem. You can use a rolled up piece of paper, a soda straw or a chopstick.
