A silly, little poem I wrote in college...

.

Silver, Purple and Orange, I guess,

Are not blessed with rhyme-iness.

These three words are found among,

Those awkward words in the English tongue,

That never seem to have a rhyme,

And never get to end a line.

If they could, what should they do?

Try to be red, green, or blue?

  2. "Orange" - I remember struggling with finding a rhyme for that in high school! Indeed, better they had been red, green or blue!

PS. Have been checking in regularly, but struggling to leave a comment - all working well now, hooray! :)

  3. Marilyn,
I found you the first month I began Homeschooling my, then 7 year old daughter. She is 10. I am a single mom and we adore your blog and your Toymaker site. Some of our happiest moments have been getting your newsletter and printed out the new 'toy'.

Kei's room is full of your goodies tucked in special places everywhere. She has made almost everything on your site.

    Thank you so much,
    Karen

  6. Thinking about oranges,
    I bought some rhyming lozenges.
    The purple pack was silvered.
    Their taste left me bewildered.

  8. I enjoy your site and your mission so much. I admire your dedication to sharing with all of us, out of the goodness of your heart, despite the many demands of daily life. Your poem reminds me of the book I just treated my sons to: Hailstones and Halibut Bones, Adventures in Color by Mary O'Neill. Your recent mention of libraries brings to mind a jewel we have checked out this week: The Jester Has Lost His Jingle by David Saltzman. Like you, the jester is dedicated to spreading cheer, no matter the odds. . . Don't miss the author info in the back.
