Mr. Darcy and Lavender Morning

How much fun can one lady have in a week? Lots! Let me tell you...

I like big books and I cannot lie...

These two lovely ladies are my adventure buddies, Diana and Dana. We got all foofooed up to go to the Heritage House Museum for "Tea With Jane"

It was about 150 ladies in hats drinking tea and talking about Jane Austin.

We rode in style in Diana's neighbor's vintage Plymoth, "Penelope"

It was delicious.

I'd recovered by Tuesday enough to meet the lovely Annie Rugyt at "Lavender Morning" a super flowery tea shop in downtown Tustin. We both like to write and it was a good chance to catch up on what we have been working on and to supplement our diets with dried rose petals.

My 60th birthday is coming up next month so I'm starting the party early.

Wishing you a creative week!

Marilyn.

  1. What a delightful week you had! Thank you for sharing these lovely moments! I, too, love Jane Austin, and rode around in that year Plymouth when it wasn't vintage...

    1. Marcia, that is so cool you had your own "Penelope". It was a Mister Toad's Wild Ride getting there, no seatbelts and a cranky stick shift. It was grand!

  2. May I share your post with my friend that is the head Librarian at the Rochester Public Library? She loves Jane Austin. Your photos are fab - & glad you had the best time.

  4. Hi, Marilyn,
I used to visit your blog several years ago. I was looking at some old Google sites I had created when I was teaching, and a link to yours was in my resources for my middle-school computer club. I was thrilled to fine it still worked. Happy upcoming 60th birthday. I have you beat by 11 years, but I'm still feeling younger than 60 - most days. I've been retired from teaching now for 6 years, and I don't know where the time has gone, but I'm happy to find your site again. You inspire me. Keep up the good work and healthy habits. My, your son really does look like a rock star. My youngest is 35, and he and his wife will present my husband and me with a grandson, come September. He will be his grandfather's namesake. We are all very excited. Have a wonderful summer.
