I'm trying to learn how to paint with watercolor. It's uphill both ways. Cut paper is much easier to work with, at least for me. These are quick sketches, no bigger than a piece of typing paper. Tomorrow, I'll try again. MSW

Thanks, Debbie!
ReplyDeleteYour watercolors are fantastic - don't be selling yourself short. I have been helping in my daughter's middle school pottery class the past couple of weeks. They are learning relief printmaking (I'm a printmaker) and yesterday we made watercolor backgrounds to print on. Eventually they'll use their relief blocks to make tiles - it's a wonderful class and the teacher is amazing. I'm so lucky to be a part of it.
ReplyDeletethanks, Dawn. It's just hard to learn something new and this is a little outside my comfort zone. It's harder to correct mistakes in watercolor. I'm trying a new kind of paints today. We'll see what happens! :-)
ReplyDeleteYour daughter's class sounds lovely. My son's middle school doesn't have one art class... not one! It's a crime, really.

If this is your first attempt at watercolour, I am amazed. Your paintings are beautiful! But then, your work is always amazing me. Thank you for sharing your gift.
ReplyDeleteCheers,

Jane, thank you. This isn't my very first attempt at watercolor. I took a night class about 13 years ago. The boy was just a baby and the wonderhub was home alone with him. I remember painting with a blowdryer in one hand.
