Writing, Drawing, Writing

I've been in a writing, painting, drawing and rewriting frenzy these last few months, so I haven't really blogged much. Life has pretty much looked like this..

The boy cracked me up with these super hamburgers that he made. They were the size of baseballs, stuffed with green chilies and cheese.

McQueen and Mister Pretty sit on my desk and keep me company.

The Wonderhub is making another Selmer classical and a tenor ukelele. The wood grain is beautiful. The ukelele has a turquoise sound hole inlay.

I've been baking a lot lately. It's inexpensive and tastes so much better than store bought. The brown loaf is made with whole wheat, rye flour, coffee and cocoa powder. Delish!

How about you? What's cooking in your kitchen?

Marilyn.

There is a privacy about it which no other season gives you.... In spring, summer and fall people sort of have an open season on each other; only in the winter, in the country, can you have longer, quiet stretches when you can savor belonging to yourself.  ~ Ruth Stout

Sherlock Bones and The Mystery of the Kitty Prints

Hmmm, this morning there were oil paint kitty prints all over the desk. I, Sherlock Bones, will get to bottom of this!

Who could have done such a thing?
The scene of the crime...

The first suspect, Mister Pretty... he says that he was out drinking at the Bathtub...

Then he went to to a musical concert, a production of "Cats".

My next suspect was McQueen... aka "The Otter"

He says that he didn't do it.

Oh well, I guess we'll never know. What do you think happened?

Details from The Toymaker's Christmas and The Toymaker's Workshop.

One of the things that I really enjoyed about making The Toymaker's Christmas and The Toymaker's Workshop was the freedom to add all the little detaily bits.

Thankful

A random assortment of things that I am thankful for...

Chocolate

The Beach, especially in winter when there is nobody there. My BFF Julie was in town for Thanksgiving and we spent a great day wandering about.

Creativity = The Boy made a bowl in woodshop for Nana. So proud.

Cats are awesome.

How about you? What are you thankful for on this fine day?

Marilyn.
