My regular handwriting is really awful... my grocery lists are a scrawly bunch of lines that look like I wrote them in the car while driving on a dirt road. My scattered brain tosses out words faster than my poor fingers could ever hope to put on paper.
However I do like lettering and typography, and for me, making letters on the page is soothing. After finding this wonderful website, I've been practicing Spencerian Script.

I encourage you to try it. You don't need any fancy materials. A pencil and a spiral bound notebook from the dollar store will get you started.
